Hello SANDCASP Members! It is my honor to be President of the San Diego County Association of School Psychologists (SANDCASP) for the 23-24 school year! Having been a member of SANDCASP for some time, I’ve had the opportunity to acquire deeper knowledge and awareness, which allows me to better serve those around me. I believe that SANDCASP can support your needs as it does mine. SANDCASP is made up of talented and passionate members (that’s you) who bring inspiration to the people we serve. So, click here to invite your colleagues to join SANDCASP (or renew their membership), or to join/renew yourself. It’s SO EXCITING to see that we already have 183 members for the current school year! THANK YOU ALL for your support! This year, SANDCASP will continue to provide professional development opportunities, as well as networking and social events. We hope you were able to join us for our annual Legal Update and Ethics training that was held on Friday, August 25th. We had a great turn out! Over 120 of the 153 registrants attended live on Zoom! And if you missed it, stay tuned for our upcoming Human Trafficking training on December 8, 2023. Along with attending trainings, I would like to encourage each of you to take advantage of all of the activities SANDCASP has to offer, including TODAY’s Kick-Off Event, our annual Job Fair, National School Psychology Week, SANDCASP awards/scholarship and, of course, our SUPER FUN End-of-the-Year celebration! By the way, we also welcome volunteers. So, if you are interested, there is a place for you. Along those same lines, our in-person board meetings are open to all. Our first SANDCASP Board Meeting of the school year is scheduled for Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in attending. I also want to encourage you to attend the CASP Convention this year at the Hilton Costa Mesa, October 10-13, 2023. Each year, the convention is about a lot of learning and a lot of fun. So, don’t forget to renew your CASP membership (or join) and sign up for the convention! Click here for specifics about CASP Con 2023. Lastly, I’d like to recognize our amazing SANDCASP veteran board members, many of whom have worked tirelessly over many years, and our new board members who will bring a refreshing dose of expertise and excitement to our board this school year.
