School Psychology Awareness Week (SPAW) is coming up November 12-16, 2018. Each year SANDCASP celebrates SPAW with a challenge! Once again, this year, SANDCASP will be awarding the winner of the SPAW Challenge with a $100 Visa Gift Card! So, put your creative hats on and start thinking about what you can do to create awareness for our profession!
During or after SPAW, send a description along with some photos of your SPAW activities to SANDCASP to enter to win the prize. The SANDCASP Board will select the most creative idea with the widest reach that directly creates awareness of school psychology. All submissions should be received by [email protected] no later than November 21, 2018. Note: Winner must be a SANDCASP Member.
Past submissions have included presentations, posters, videos, and placing documents and/or activities in staff mailboxes each day of SPAW.
Just a reminder: This year’s SPAW theme is “Unlock Potential. Find Your Password!” A password is a personal key for unlocking any number of areas of potential in our lives. Our goal is to connect with how modern youth and adults unlock things (e.g., gaming levels, phones, devices, codes) and to highlight how thinking about specific skills, assets, or characteristics as “passwords” can lead to positive growth. School psychologists are particularly skilled at assisting students and staff in unlocking the resources, proactive and preventive skills, and positive connections necessary to unlock one’s full potential to thrive in school and life.
